Shalom House, operated by So Others Might Eat (SOME), is an affordable housing development that assists adults in the transition from homelessness to independent living. Their renovation project would convert the building from 74 single-occupancy and 19 multi-person units to 73 larger units including kitchens.
November 2023: Shalom House/SOME present to ANC 5F and answer questions from the community on the project.Â
December 2023: I vote for ANC5F-25-070 sponsored by Commissioner Jennifer Anderson to support the application before the Board of Zoning Adjustment to approve parking relief for the renovation project.
October 2024: Commissioner Anderson and I meet with SOME officials at Shalom House to discuss the project and other priorities.
November 2024-March 2025: I work with Commissioner Anderson and SOME to successfully cancel WMATA's planned removal of the bus stops at 4th/Todd next to Shalom House, which residents depend on.
